Xi’an Glynn, 2000

SUNY Potsdam - Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics - Boston Secor Houses

Xi’an Glynn was born and raised in the Bronx and resided in Boston Secor housing projects. While attending Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics high school, she applied to the Juanita James Memorial Scholarship Foundation and was accepted. The scholarship provided financial assistance as she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication and Employment Relations from SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s Degree in English and Communication from the same university.

Since 2017, Glynn has been employed as a New York City Transit Worker with the Metropolitan Transit Authority and is currently enrolled in classes to further her education through the Transit Workers Union Local 100 and the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies to prepare for the role of a Train Operator.

In her free time Glynn serves as the Founder and Creator of Dream Catcher Media, a multimedia entertainment company that specializes in music production, video production and book writing. Her first book Black and Blue: My Experience with Race and Relationships was released in 2017, detailing work that explores culture, politics, family and intimacy.

Glynn is currently working on new material to be released at a future date. Her work can be found on various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
