Tavonna first pursued her interest in science at the Urban Assembly for Wildlife Conservation, a Bronx school that has since closed after a widely publicized fatal stabbing. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science degree in the very challenging field of biology. Tavonna is now a research technician at the Weill Cornell College of Medicine.
