Jennifer was born in Brooklyn to immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic. When she was just 2 years old, her parents relocated to the Bronx where they have resided in the Morris Housing Projects since 1992. Jennifer attended DeWitt Clinton High School and graduated in 2008 with honors. With help from her incredible support team, she applied Early Decision to Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, PA and was accepted into the School of Engineering. She graduated in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and went on to complete a one-year graduate program at CMU. Jennifer received her graduate degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering (with a focus on water resources) in 2013. Today, Jennifer is a licensed Professional Engineer in the jurisdictions of New York and Pennsylvania and is working as a Project Engineer for an environmental engineering consulting firm.
