Jayson Rivera was born in the Bronx and grew up in the New York City’s Patterson Housing Authority. He graduated from the Urban Assembly of the Bronx Academy of Letters in 2020. Living in NYCHA has motivated him to push through every struggle and stay driven to his goals. As a student, musical theater is a big part of his identity. His interest in musical theater started in freshman year of high school and eventually grew into a passion. Participating in a choir, the Broadway Mentor series, and musical plays throughout highschool has given him the opportunity to share this passion with others and inspire students and kids in the community that they could do anything they want if they put their mind to it. 

Jayson is currently attending SUNY Geneseo and is a potential musical theater major. He is looking forward to joining acapella groups, making music of his own, and joining multiple musical theater productions.
